Microsoft Management Summit 2013 Day 0: Registration and my first breakout session…

08 Apr

Hi everyone,

This year I’m an attendant at the Microsoft Management Summit. It is also my first that I’m attending MMS but also the first time I’m visiting the USA so everything is new to me…

After adjusting to the timezone here in Las Vegas (a 9 hour time difference for me because mine is CET) the event started.

Registration went smooth and after receiving a very useful bag with some small goodies I was ready to get started. My coworker Marthijn van Rheenen is particularly content with the bag because he now has a bag to put his equipment in J

After a small break I attended the following breakout session: UD-B324 SQL Server 2012 for System Center Administrators

For me not much new stuff was explained, some useful perfmon counters and some good recommended practices were displayed which I can use for future System Center 2012 SP1 implementations.

I asked a question what would happen if I monitor my SQL environment with OpsMgr when a maintenance plan fails. I’d like to know to receive an alert in OpsMgr when this happens. I didn’t get a clear yes or no so this is something I need find out myself…

After that, a good dinner and some relaxing before going to sleep. Day 1 is where the real stuff beging, day 0 is just an appetizer…
